What Is Reiki

Reiki is universal energy, and Reiki healing is a means of utilizing this energy to invite happiness, reduce stress, and harmonize the energy of oneself or others—by gently laying hands on or slightly above various points of the body.

Reiki energy can also be transmitted remotely by healers who channel this universal energy with their hands, eyes, and intention, to anyone who has requested it. Reiki healing is usually experienced as a complementary or alternative healing method.

The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words:
Rei (universal) and Ki (energy).

Being universal, Reiki has always existed. It is always within us, and we are always within its flow. Yet in everyday life, we may not be able to access it or be aware of it.

Reiki classes and healing sessions help clear the blocks that prevent this awareness.

 

The Nature of Reiki

Reiki comes from the highest, purest source. Its source is Unconditional Love, which we may call God, the Divine, the Creator, or any word we use to describe the indescribable.

Reiki is beyond duality. It is both masculine and feminine, and it helps us transcend ideas of light and dark, good and bad, guiding us toward unconditional love.

The wonder of this energy is that when we connect with it, we are healed.
Healing
here does not mean merely the absence of imbalance or ailment—it is the
presence of love, harmony, and happiness in our lives.

Reiki has come into this world to reconnect us with the Love that brought us into being.

Reiki has its own intelligence. It
flows where it is needed, with the strength required for each person and
situation. It can therefore do no harm. It can transform, respond,
clear, and guide—and once attuned to it, you may find yourself seeing
the world in an entirely new way.

The truth of Reiki is this: the healer is within.
A Reiki session awakens and strengthens this natural healing energy.

Learning Reiki

When you learn Reiki as a healing technique, you are attuned to its frequency through initiation by a Reiki Master Teacher.

Reiki healing is traditionally taught in three levels. Between Level 2 and Level 3 lies a path of unfolding and self-growth. Those who choose to serve as Reiki Masters are invited to do their inner work as they walk the path.

The relationship is lifelong. I remain available to you, as do other lineage holders—though you are always free to stay in touch in the way that feels right for you. If we have not already met, I require that we speak before making a final decision to take a class with me.

Class Structure & Lineage

Each level is taught in a 6–8 hour theory and practice workshop, usually in one day.
Class size is intentionally small: 1–5 participants.

Included:

• Light snacks and a meal

• A practitioner manual written by Taveta Grant, updated annually by me as new insights emerge and as world energies and personal energy signatures evolve

• A 21-day online mentoring period

• A Reiki Share and certificate ceremony, where you meet others of the lineage

All lineage holders are encouraged to attend classes they have already taken, to hold sacred space. There is no cost to attend again—only the invitation to bring a snack or dish to share.

I also hold regular Reiki shares and meditation meetings, which you are welcome to attend with a love donation.

Reiki Certification Levels

Reiki Level 1

Reiki Level 1 attunes you to channel Reiki energy for self-healing and for offering Reiki to others through hands-on or aura-level practice.

It provides:

• a daily routine for connecting mind, body, life, and soul

• an introduction to the power of intention

• an understanding of how to work with universal energy, rather than personal energy, in healing sessions and in life

Reiki Level 2

Reiki Level 2 introduces sacred symbols that allow you to work in timeless space—supporting healing across distance, time, and life situations.

Your intuition begins to open, and you deepen your awareness of your role in the world.

Advanced Reiki Training (ART)

Advanced Reiki Training launches you onto the path of the Reiki Master.

This stage reflects a commitment to living consciously in service to humanity. The journey may unfold over a year and includes:

• learning energy systems

• deep self-discovery

• walking the shadows

• releasing fear, anger, and blame

Courses may be taken through self-study or with other teachers. During the workshop, the Master symbol is given.

Reiki Level 3 — Reiki Master

Reiki Master training deepens your practice and teaches you how to attune others.

You are initiated into symbols that invoke the energy needed for attunement. This level is usually by invitation.

When the student is ready, the teaching appears.
